What we help with

Trauma therapy that centers body and choice

When trauma has left you feeling braced, disconnected, or not like yourself, we approach it with care and steadiness. We work from body awareness, relational safety, and the belief that choice matters.

What people bring us

People often come in after something overwhelming, or after years of carrying things that never really got resolved. Trauma can show up as feeling jumpy, shut down, flooded, or disconnected from your own body. It can affect trust, sleep, concentration, and the ability to feel at home in ordinary life. Sometimes the event itself is painful, and so is the way it keeps showing up now.

  • I still feel like I’m waiting for something bad to happen.
  • I shut down when things get too much.
  • I don’t feel like I’m really in my body.
  • Certain things bring everything back fast.

Healing begins with the ability to choose.

How we work with it

We work with trauma in a way that keeps your body, your choices, and your timing in view. That can include somatic awareness, trauma-informed processing, EMDR, or trauma-sensitive yoga, depending on what fits. We pay close attention to what feels activating and what helps you stay present enough to work with it. The aim is not to push through, but to keep the work honest and workable.

Individual Therapy
One-on-one work lets us go carefully with what has happened and what still gets stirred up now. We keep checking what feels manageable so the pace stays with you, not ahead of you.
Trauma-Sensitive Yoga
This gives you a way to notice sensation and movement without performance or correction. For trauma, that can create a different kind of contact with the body, one built around present-moment awareness and choice.
Drop-In Sessions
Some people need support around a trauma trigger or a hard week before they’re ready for ongoing work. Drop-in sessions give you a place to be seen without committing to a longer series right away.
Workshops and Groups
Group settings can help some people learn about trauma, the nervous system, and regulation alongside others. We keep the structure clear so people know what kind of sharing and participation to expect.

What the first sessions look like

Early sessions focus on what feels most important to say out loud and what helps you feel settled enough to be here. We’ll talk about your history only as much as feels useful, at a pace that doesn’t ask you to tell everything at once.

Questions people ask

Do I have to tell the whole story right away?

No. We start with what feels most important right now, and you can decide how much you want to share in any session.

What if talking about it makes me shut down?

We pay attention to that, because it matters. The work can include body awareness and grounding so we stay with what’s happening without pushing past your limits.

Can trauma work include yoga or movement?

Yes, if that feels useful to you. We offer trauma-sensitive yoga with no corrections and no expectations, so the focus stays on exploration.

What if I’m not sure what counts as trauma?

Sorting that out can happen here. We can start with the impact it’s having now and make sense of it together.
