What we help with

Anxiety therapy in Waterbury that starts with choice

If anxiety has been running the day, we’ll slow things down and look at what’s happening in your body, your relationships, and your routines. We keep the work grounded and practical, without rushing you into anything.

What people bring us

People often come in feeling keyed up, restless, or stuck in a loop of worry they can’t seem to shut off. It can show up as trouble sleeping, trouble focusing, or feeling tense all the time. Some people notice they’re avoiding things that used to feel normal. Others feel like they’re always bracing for something to go wrong. Often the biggest issue is how much anxiety starts getting in the way of work, relationships, rest, and being present.

  • I can’t seem to turn my mind off.
  • I’m tense before anything even happens.
  • I keep putting things off because I feel overwhelmed.
  • I’m tired of feeling on edge all the time.

Restoring your sense of agency is at the heart of healing.

How we work with it

We work with anxiety through body awareness, nervous system regulation, and a steady look at the patterns that keep you stuck. If it fits, we may bring in individual therapy, trauma-informed processing, or present-moment awareness so the work stays connected to what you notice in session. We pay attention to choice, because feeling trapped often makes anxiety worse. The focus stays on what helps you understand your patterns and what feels possible to try next.

Individual Therapy
In one-on-one sessions, we look at how anxiety shows up in your body, thoughts, and relationships. We move at a pace that works for you and keep checking what feels useful in the room.
Trauma-Sensitive Yoga
For some people, anxiety settles better when they can notice breath, sensation, and movement without pressure. This work stays non-performance based, so you can explore what you feel without being corrected.
Drop-In Sessions
When anxiety flares and you want support today, a drop-in session can give you a place to talk it through without ongoing commitment. It’s a way to get seen when things feel immediate.
Workshops and Groups
Some people want to learn with others, especially around mindfulness or nervous system regulation. Groups and workshops can give anxiety a shared, less isolated place to land.

What the first sessions look like

In the first sessions, we listen for what anxiety looks like in your actual life and what feels hardest right now. We’ll talk about what you want help with, what feels manageable to change, and what pace feels workable for you.

Questions people ask

Is this just for panic, or can you help with everyday anxiety too?

We work with the kind of anxiety that shows up in daily life, not just the moments that feel most intense. People often come in because worry, tension, and overthinking are starting to shape how they move through the day.

What happens in the first session if I’m already overwhelmed?

We’ll start with what feels most pressing and keep the conversation simple. You don’t have to organize everything before you come in.

Can anxiety work include my body, not just talking?

Yes. We pay attention to body awareness and nervous system regulation, and we can bring in trauma-sensitive yoga when that fits your goals.

Do I need to know what’s causing my anxiety before I start?

No. We can begin with what you notice now, even if you don’t have a clear explanation for it yet.
