How the work goes

Individual Therapy for one-on-one support that moves with you

If you want a private place to work through what’s happening, we offer one-on-one sessions that stay close to your body, your story, and your choices. The pace is collaborative, and the work is grounded in what feels possible for you.

How we use it

In individual therapy, we draw on somatic awareness, EMDR, trauma-informed processing, strengths based, client-centered, and nervous system regulation. That means we pay attention to your body, your choices, and what feels steady enough to explore in the room. We don’t rush toward a fixed agenda, because the work needs to fit the person in front of us. The focus may shift depending on whether you’re working through trauma, stress, relationship patterns, or more day-to-day concerns.

One-on-one sessions integrating somatic awareness, EMDR, trauma-informed processing, strengths based, client-centered, and nervous system regulation moving at a pace that works for you.

Who it tends to suit

People come to individual therapy for all kinds of reasons, often after things have been building for a while. They may be dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or a sense that they’re stuck in patterns they can’t shift alone. Some people want help understanding themselves better, while others want support for something immediate and hard. The work can be about current stress, older hurts, or the way those two mix together.

  • I need a place to sort through what’s been building up.
  • I keep getting stuck in the same patterns.
  • I want help, but I don’t know where to start.
  • I’m carrying more than I can talk through with friends.

What the first sessions look like

The first sessions are about understanding what brings you in and what you want this work to include. We’ll talk about what feels most important now, what you’ve already tried, and what pace feels right for you.

Questions people ask

What happens in individual therapy at your practice?

We talk about what’s going on, pay attention to your body and your choices, and decide together what to focus on. The work stays grounded in what matters to you in that room.

Do I have to come in with a clear goal?

No. We can start with what feels most present and sort out the direction together.

Can individual therapy include body-based work?

Yes. Somatic awareness and nervous system regulation are part of how we work, and trauma-sensitive yoga may also fit for some people.

Is this the same as community therapy?

Individual therapy is one-on-one, while community aspects show up more in groups, workshops, and membership offerings. Some people use both depending on what kind of support they want.
